The literary translation seminar for Georgian translators living in Germany takes place in Frankfurt Literature House during 4-8 April 2016 initiated by Georgian National Book Center.
The translation sessions are led by German and Georgian experts – professors Eduard Schreiber and Alexander Kartozia. During five days the participants of the seminar are working on the translations of Georgian literature, especially fiction. In order to develop professional skills, intensive sessions include theoretical and practical parts as well.
According to the program, Anastasia Kamarauli, Rusudan Pkhakadze, Tamar Metskhovrishvili, Vamekh Okujava, Tamar muskhelishvili, Maia Tabukashvili will provide the sample translations of Georgian literature that are not available in German language until now.
Frankfurt Literature House hosts literary translation seminar for Georgian translators first time that is extremely crucial platform in the field. The aim of the project is to support German translations and published books of Georgian Literature presented at Frankfurt Book Fair in 2018 within the guest of honor country presentation.
