During 13-17 June, by initiative of Georgian National Book Center, the representatives of German media and literary festivals are visiting Tbilisi. Cultural journalists – Doris Akrap (Die Taz), Barbara Renno (Saarlaendischer Rundfunk), Juliane Liebert (Süddeutschen) and coordinators from Lettretage, Lit.Cologne, lit. RUHR and Bremen poetry Festivals (Moritz Malsch, Traudl Buenger, Regina Dyck) are getting aware of Georgian literature and current processes of promotion Georgian titles abroad.
Within the program organized by the GNBC, Medea Metreveli director of the center makes foreign guests informed regarding preparation process of Guest of Honor country presentation at Frankfurt Book Fair next year. In order to discuss the details and possibilities of further cooperation in 2018, the representatives of literary festivals meet Georgian contemporary authors, literary critics and translators planning by the GNBC team, while Georgian journalists gain the information from German colleagues concerning the actual topics organized by the Goethe Institute in Tbilisi.
In frame of cultural visit, they are visiting Kazbegi and several exhibitions in Tbilisi - Unique Collections in Art and Science Centers including Golden Treasury of National Museum, National Center of Manuscripts, and Writer’s House and have a tour through Old Tbilisi to introduce its architecture and historical heritage.
The annually project is aimed at facilitating of promotion of Georgian literature and culture overseas and increasing the publicity of Georgia as a guest of honor country at Frankfurt Book Fair in 2018.
