- Call for literary translation seminar in Looren translation house
By the support of the Georgian National Book center, in partnership with Translation House Looren and Fond of German Translation Program is delighted to announce a call for applications for a literary translation workshop in Switzerland at Translation House Looren from 18 November till 24 November, 2017. The Literary Translation Workshop will offer Georgian-German language translators the opportunity to work on presented samples and discuss the ways of translating fiction and non-fiction literature into German. The program consists of five days of intensive translation activity. The workshop will be led by experienced literary translators Rosemarie Tietze and Andrea Ott, referent – Dr. Alexander Kartozia. European Translators Colleagues in Straelen, by the initiative of the Georgian National Book center, in partnership with Robert Bosch Fund and Fond of German Translation Program is delighted to announce a call for applications for a literary translation workshop in Straelen, Germany from 29 November till 4 December, 2016. The Literary Translation Workshop will offer Georgian-German language translators the opportunity to work together and discuss the ways of translating fiction from Georgian into German. The program consists of five days of intensive translation activity. The workshop will be led by experienced literary translators Rosemarie Tietze and Andrea Ott. The participation is free, the travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the partner organizations. The Georgian National Book Center within the program of European Translators Colleagues in Straelen, in partnership with Fund of German Translators, Robert Bosch Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Art Fund NRW and Goethe Institute Tbilisi is delighted to announce a call for applications for a literary translation workshop in Straelen, Germany from 16th to 22th November 2015. The Literary Translation Workshop will offer twelve Georgian and German-language translators the opportunity to work together and discuss the ways of translating fiction from Georgian into German and from German into Georgian. The program consists of five days of intensive translation activity. The workshop will be led by experienced literary translators Rosemarie Tietze and Natia Mikeladze-Bakhsoliani (Georgian-German), Alexander Kartozia (German-Georgian).

- Call for Literary Translation Workshop
The Georgian National Book Center, in partnership with the British Council, Writers’ Centre Norwich and the British Centre for Literary Translation is delighted to announce a call for applications for a Literary Translation workshop in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 7th to 11th September 2015.
The literary translation workshop will offer eight Georgian and English-language literary translators the opportunity to work together and discuss in depth the challenges of translating fiction from English into Georgian and from Georgian into English. The programme consists of five days of intensive hands-on translation activity. The workshops will be led by respected literary translators Elizabeth Heighway and Tamar Japaridze. English-Georgian and/or Georgian-English early to mid-career professionals in the field of literary translation are invited to submit an application by 15th May 2015.
Candidates are asked to fill in a form available online, and to send their CVs and a short sample translation - original and translated text, maximum 500 words. Applications should be submitted electronically to maghlakelidze@book.gov.ge
The results of the selection process will be announced by 29th June 2015.

- Translation workshop for the translators from Georgian into German language
With the support of the Georgian National Book Center, Forum of Georgian Culture (Frankfurt, Germany) organized translation workshop for the translators from Georgian into German language. 6 translators selected within the announced call by the organizer will be participated at the seminar. The sessions will be led by Dr. Alexander Kartozia and Edward Schreiber. As a result of the workshop, 6 German sample translations of Georgian works will be edited by the experts. Partner organizations: Institute of Linguistics at Frankfurt Goethe University, Embassy of Georgia in Germany.
