Twelve Georgian and German-language translators will participate in a literary translation workshop that takes place in Straelen, Germany (European Translators Colleagues). The seminars initiated by Georgian National Book Center collaboration with European Translators Colleagues in Straelen, in partnership with Fund of German Translators, Robert Bosch Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Art Fund NRW and Goethe Institute Tbilisi will be held from 16th till 22nd of November in Straelen, Germany. 

The five-day intensive courses for the purpose of improving translator’s skills consist of theoretical and practical parts. The seminars will be led by highly qualified and experienced literary translators Rosemarie Tietze and Natia Mikeladze-Bakhsoliani (Georgian-German), Alexander Kartozia (German-Georgian).

During the seminars the characteristics, challenges and specifics of literary translations will be discussed among the participants and workshop leaders.

The literary translation workshop is dedicated to mid-career German-Georgian and Georgian-German literary translators.

All the expenses of participation at the seminars (transportation, living costs) will be provided by the partner organizations.
