The program of Georgia as the Guest of Honor Country at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2018 will be developed by the special organizing committee. The first meeting and presentation of the committee was held at the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection today.

Mikheil Giorgadze, the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection will lead the execution of the project and Organizing Committee. Apart the Minister of culture, Ministries of Foreigner Affairs, Economy and Sustainable Development, Finance, Education and Science will be involved in the process with their deputies.

12 member advisory Board, represented by the professionals of artistic and scientific organizations, such as Nino Kharatishvili, David Lortkipanidze, Lasha Bakradze, Levan Gigineishvili, Irena Popiashvili, Rezo Kiknadze, Giga Zedania, Mamuka Khazaradze, Davis Doiashvili, Otar Karalashvili, Giorgi Kekelidze and Stephan Wackwitz, plays extremely important role in the work process of the Committee.

The Guest of Honor Project will be lead by the Director of the Georgian National Book Center Medea Metreveli. Several professional groups, created on the GNBC base will work on the content and technical issues of the project on the mutual collaboration basis with the Ministry of Culture and Monument protection and the Advisory Board.

Georgia will take place as the Guest of Honor after Indonesia, Netherlands and France.
