By the initiative of Georgian National Book Center, European publishers are visiting Tbilisi during January 23-26, 2018 within the eighth Literary Forum and Dialogue. In frame of the project 15 well-known German, French, British, Polish, Dutch, Italian publishers and Turkish lit agents are getting aware about contemporary literary process in Georgia. According to the program, foreign guests with Georgian colleagues, translators, literary critics and agents (Éditions de l'Olivier, Gallimard, Penguin Random House/Vintage, Metailie Publishing House, Edition Monhardt, Leipziger Literaturverlag, Iperborea, Karakter, Foksal, Feltrinelli Publishing, Prometheus, Eccles Fisher Associates, Ajans Letra, Dirk Hülstrunk - Poetry Curator) will discuss the promotion of Georgian literary translations abroad and development of Georgian book sector. Moreover, they will attend the presentation provided by GNBC team in order to gain the information about preparation process of Guest of Honor Country literary program at Frankfurter Buchmesse this year.
The Georgian colleagues will discuss with german poetry curator due to the perspectives of planning and realizing the related events included art performances in Frankfurt this year.
According to the special cultural program, guests will visit several local cultural and educational institutions related to Georgian culture and literature.
The Literary forum and Dialogue is aimed at facilitating of promotion of both Georgian literature abroad and international literature in Georgia. The project stimulates the networking between the local and publishers from abroad based on the presentations and discussions in the field for further cooperation.
Partner organizations of the project are: the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Goethe Institute in Tbilisi, Institut Français de Géorgie, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tbilisi, Writers’ House of Georgia, Georgian National Museum and Georgian National Parliamentary Library.
