By the initiative of Georgian National Book Center, European publishers are visiting Tbilisi from May 29 to June 3, 2017 within the seventh Literary Forum and Dialogue. During the four days 15 well-known German, Swiss and Italian publishers are getting aware about contemporary literary process in Georgia. In frame of working meetings foreign guests with Georgian colleagues, translators, literary critics and agents will discuss the promotion of Georgian literary translations abroad and development of Georgian book sector. Within the project German essayist, literary critic and cultural journalist Gregor Dotzauer (Die Ziet and Der Tagesspiegel) meets Georgian literary critics, translators, authors, the representatives of Goethe Institute in Tbilisi and GNBC team in order to gain the information about preparation process of Guest of Honor Country presentation at Frankfurt Book Fair in 2018.
According to the special cultural program, guests will visit several local cultural and educational institutions related to Georgian culture and literature.
The Literary forum and Dialogue is aimed at facilitating of promotion of both Georgian literature abroad and international literature in Georgia. The project stimulates the networking between the local and publishers from abroad based on the presentations and discussions in the field for further cooperation.
Partner organizations of the project are: the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection, Goethe Institute in Tbilisi, Caucasian House, Georgian Publishers and Booksellers Association, Georgian National Museum and Georgian National Parliamentary Library.
