ROSE GARDEN
BERIDZE IRMA
Rose Garden comprises several segments of poetry, including poems for children, and also prose. To those who are familiar with Irma’s recent publications in literary periodicals, it might sound implausible that a woman of tense feelings, sentiments and thoughts would be an author of The Rose Garden.
The Rose Garden is akin to the Garden of Eden, a garden of childhood, replete with serenity and calm; where everything has been well to this point, and in full accordance with Divine Order. Human cognition is at peace and has not yet commenced action, real life. It is saturated with cuteness, tenderness, ingenuousness, unconditional love, and trust and loyalty to the world and human beings.
The author’s purposeful choice to include literary works for both children and adults in the same book is her conceptual approach to life. The book’s rather simplistic cover is a harmonious repercussion of the author’s character.
Irma Beridze’s texts are subtly permeated with a looming commotion of real life, which the Rose Garden must endure.
