SOLOMANASHVILI BESO
Born 1964 in Tbilisi, studied at the Georgian State Polytechnic Institute and at the same time in a documentary film direction college. From 1988 to 1990 he worked as school teacher in the mountainous region of Tusheti, teaching physics, mathematics and art. From 1991 to 1996 he worked in the Studio of Giorgi Shengelaia, Faculty of Film Direction, Georgian State Theatre & Film Institute. During the war in Abkhazia (1993-1994) he was assistant director & video on the drama-documentary The Graveyard of Dreams by Giorgi Khaindrava (a film shot on combat locations). From 1994 to 1998 he worked as photographer & video-camera operator for the The Georgian Red Cross & Red Crescent Organization press service. From 1998 to 2000 he was film director at "Georgian TV-film" Company. Since 2003 he has been working as TV program director at the TV Company IMEDI. Several times he was shortlisted for Literary Award SABA. His short story The Smugglers” was acclaimed as one of the best short stories of the century by the literary periodical Tsiskari.
