KHUKHUA SHORENA

Born in 1978, she is a Master of Theoretical Linguistics, as well as a candidate for a doctor’s degree in Literature and Literary Theory. For 10 years she has been teaching Georgian at Azerbaijani school near the Georgian-Armenian border. Shorena was involved in an accident and used a wheelchair. Her rehabilitation lasted for 7 years during which she took part in the Disability Rights Movement. Her personal posts are popular in social media. She writes poetry and short fiction. Her style is brief and minimalist. The semi-autobiographical novel Coming in Wheelchair tells about a strong woman and her painful emotions.
