By the initiative of the Georgian National Book center, in partnership with Fond of German Translation Program, European Translators Colleagues in Straelen and Robert Bosch Fund a literary translation workshop takes place in Straelen, Germany from 29 November till 4 December, 2016.

The Literary Translation Workshop offers Georgian-German language translators the opportunity to work together and discuss the ways of translating fiction from Georgian into German. Eight selected literary translators: Rachel Gratzfeld, SybillaHeinze, Nikoloz Lomtadze, Tamara Muskhelishvili, Steffi Chotiwari-Junger, Martina Kempter, MajaLisowski, Sebastian Minkner are participating in the sessions.

The program consists of five days of intensive translation activity. The workshop will be led by experienced literary translators Rosemarie Tietze and Andrea Ott. Doctor Alexander Kartozia is invited by the German side as a referent for 2 days at the seminar.

Within the projectGerman Translation Program Fond is actively involved in coordinating the seminar implementation in cooperation with partner organizations.
